Shipping and Returns
We ship everywhere!
Currently we ship all orders placed on this website, within continental USA, from our studio in California. We use USPS Priority Mail (which guarantees delivery in 1-3 business days and offers end to end tracking) and also Fedex. In case of 'made to order' designs or in certain other situations we may ship from our India office.
International orders placed on this website will mostly be shipped from California but could be fulfilled from our India office as well.
Delivery within USA:
Shipping charges are an additional $10 per packet for all orders up to $200. Orders above $200 enjoy free shipping.
You may track your order on the USPS/Fedex website after your order has shipped. Upon dispatch you will receive a confirmation email with the tracking details of your order.
We are based in California and charge 9.5% sales tax for any order shipped to California State.
International (out of USA) deliveries:
We have taken an average to determine a flat rate charge of $28 for deliveries to Canada and $38 for all other international deliveries via USPS Priority Mail International (by default this shipping insures shipments for up to $200 at no additional charge) or Fedex.
When ordering jewelry from Lai for international deliveries you may be subject to import duties and/or taxes of the country. We are not in a position to advice you on what custom duties/taxes you may have to pay and we cannot take that responsibility.
Since we have an office in New Delhi (India) as well, international customers closer to India can write to email@example.com to query about availability of designs in our India inventory. When ordering from our India inventory, you will be charged according to the country specific catalogue pricing. We ship all orders from our India office via Fedex or Speed Post. Tracking number will be shared after the dispatch.
Although we try our best to ensure packages are delivered in a timely manner, we depend on third party logistics providers for our shipping. While we’ll do our best to deliver your packages on time and use the best providers we can, once a package is out with a delivery service, there is not much we can do when it takes a little longer to get to you than it should. We appreciate your patience in such situations.
Lai takes great pride in the level of quality and authenticity of our pieces. It is important for us that you wear with love and satisfaction any jewelry you buy from us and not feel stuck with it just because you have bought it!
If for any reason, you feel dissatisfied with the jewelry that you have purchased, you are welcome to return it to us within 7 days of purchase- unworn and in its original packaging for full refund or store credit. No returns or exchanges are accepted after 7 days. Please note: shipping charges cannot be refunded.
When returning items to us, the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. Please send your items using trackable methods to ensure safe delivery. Till it reaches us, the packet is customer’s responsibility.
However, despite our QC, if you receive a defective piece, we could either replace it for you while paying for return shipping or refund the entire amount- including shipping charges.
Please allow for slight variations due to handcrafted nature of our jewelry. These are the maker's mark and should be cherished as such. Also, we mostly use genuine stones which means our stones can have color variation and inclusions- which are a testimony of their natural origin and not defects. If these things bother you, then you need to check with us before placing your order.
